Monochromatic palettes explore a single hue across its values. One set climbs a purple from Plum #6E4E7B through Violet #976BAA to Mauve #B093BD; another walks a blue-violet from Indigo #56568C and Denim #706FA1 out to Periwinkle #AAA9C7. Silver, cloud and grey tonal runs work the same way, taking one colour and simply stepping it lighter and darker.
